So…I decided for my invites that I needed a pattern as a background element. Using our logo and our combination of themes from before I came up with this repeatable pattern. I have never made a repeatable pattern before but it was a lot of fun!
Later on, I’m sure I can find more uses for it other than the invite, like napkins and backs of pages…all kinds of hidden places
Enjoy!

So…I have been playing with my colors and have been brainstorming ideas that I like for the wedding. Here you can view the colors I am going with and a few images I have taken from the internet:
Main Colors:
> Teal (PMS 308C)
> Sage Green (PMS 371C)
> Bronze (PMS 4485C)
Accent Colors:
> Wine (PMS 229C)
> Black
So while I was perusing through old files in my computer I ran across this Image Ready movie I made in Junior College, maybe 2003? It was the first time I had put drawings into Photoshop, and the first time I had done ANY KIND of motion graphics….I have to warn you, it is pretty crude, however I find it just as entertaining now as I did when I created it. (The best part is when the knight is running, well, hopping rather.) enjoy.

Ok, it’s been a while since I have posted but it’s because I have been OH so busy with life shenanigans…BUT, alas I am back on track. I am starting a new portfolio piece entitled “Itch to get Hitched” which will have all of my design for for the wedding of Yours Truly. Yes siree, I am gettin’ hitched to my wonderful Spaniard next August and I have all kinds of things to design and plan! whoot!
So here goes post number 1:
To kick off the design fun I decided to make us a logo that incorporates our theme and the both of us. It can be used on the invites a seal or stamp, napkins favors..you name it! Plus its just plain cute.
The wedding theme is peacock, but at the same time we are incorporating travel. Peacock because its colorful, graceful, feminine and a really fun pattern and palette to work with, design speaking…and travel because, technically, our wedding is a destination wedding. I’m from the states, the man from Spain, we are going to live in Turkey…but the wedding is in the states and almost everybody has to travel to get there…AND the man is a pilot! So, think travel and peacock. travel and peacock….umm, they have nothing in common!
But here is goes: Two logos, the same; one with date and one without.

Here is the first fruit of my labor for my Snail Trail Express Project. A postcard. I drew this on the airplane on my trip to California this summer. Some of you may have experienced a transcontinenal flight…but those of you have not let me fill you in. It’s horrible! Imagine a 12hr+ ride in an armchair made of cement. That about sums it up. However, I am eternally grateful for the ability to fly such a long distance in such a short time. My life has been forever changed being able to take advantage of the technology.
With that said…I live in Europe and my family in North America, so I have flown MANY times transcontinentally. But this time was the FIRST time that I had one of those BODY SCANS…..yeah, you know, the one where they scan your body in a box cubicle thing while you stand with your arms above your head, legs spread on the painted footmarks on the floor, head forward, WITHOUT MOVING or your body will be turned into moosh scanner…..The one where you show your world the the unknown person(s) behind the secret screen….
Another thing, I was not scanned prior to entering the US. No,no, I was scanned before a 45 minute local flight from Los Angeles to San Luis Obispo on a plane that can only hold 20 people. SLO, population 50,000…..threat? Zero.
But that’s cool, Im all about my security…Im sure others feel super uncomfortable, but I thought it was pretty cool; like I had done something wrong and got away with no punishment, heehee. I had always wondered what it felt like to be frisked by the police…this was the closest Ive ever been…minus the frisking…pity. But anyways…. THANK YOU LAX, for keeping it fresh and exciting for me <3 See you next year (wink, wink
My client and I are currently in the process of publishing our newly finished treasure so therefore at this moment I cannot release any specific details about the book or storyline for copyright purposes. However, I can say that it has been a pleasure working with fine material and a fine client for the past year and I can’t wait until I have a real copy in my hands!
